Google has expanded Gemini Notebook with one-minute videos explaining difficult concepts, interactive study overviews and new quiz formats. The company announced on October 16, 2026, that the features had recently launched. They let users work through their own study materials step by step and then test their knowledge.
A short video to explain a difficult concept
The Short Video Overviews feature lets students generate a 60-second video explaining a concept they are trying to understand. They can watch it on the go or share it with a classmate.
Step-by-step study guides in Reports
Interactive Learning Overviews guide users through notes, lectures and reading materials. Created in the Reports section, they combine summaries with slides, quizzes and flashcards. Google says the entire overview draws exclusively on the user’s coursework.
More quiz formats and feedback
The expanded quizzes include short-answer questions, questions allowing multiple selections and fill-in-the-blank exercises. After completing a quiz or reviewing flashcards, users can ask their notebook for feedback to help identify what to focus on next.
Users can try the new features in Gemini Notebook with their own materials.
