I own successful companies generating around 100 million CZK in annual turnover.
One of the most successful is the first Czech-Slovak AI application Editee.com, which you surely all know :).
My beginnings in business and USA
I am currently 35 years old (I have an automatic script that continuously updates my age, so it's always current).
I started traveling as a child, I think at 6 years old, when I was abroad for the first time with my parents.
My mom owns the travel agency Grand Travel, so I've always been close to traveling.
I studied at an electrical technical high school in Sokolnice (I have fond memories of it) and also attended information technology at a university in Prague.
From age 16, together with my friend Martin Molák, who I'll never speak ill of and thanks to whom I am where I am today, I was building the largest wireless WiFi network in Rousínov and surroundings - Rousinovsko.net.
At one point we had more than approximately 1,300 connected households, I don't know the current numbers, but I firmly believe that even though expansion has stopped, the numbers are still roughly similar.
Without Martin's support - and his push into business - I would never have started my sole proprietorship, then my first, second, third LLC and wouldn't be doing what I'm doing now.
Initially I just wanted to be an employee and work for Rousinovsko.net.
Eventually Martin at 18 convinced me to start a sole proprietorship, I started installing TV antennas and satellites due to the digitalization in Czech Republic, and I was making really good money (40+ thousand CZK monthly in 2008).
In 2012 I founded 2 successful companies and later, in 2015, I moved as an investor to the United States and created another business there.
When I first arrived in the USA, I absolutely couldn't speak English.
I knew some phrases from my favorite game World of Warcraft, but any fluent conversation was out of the question.
I remember when I first negotiated prices with a UPS manager in Florida.
Her name was Malika Benson Vargas and according to LinkedIn she still works at UPS.
If she ever reads this, I send many greetings, because it took a lot of patience to deal with me.
I remember sitting with her at Starbucks and she was trying to explain everything to me.
I didn't understand almost a single word.
She stayed with me for 4 hours, drawing everything on paper and was incredibly patient.
And believe me, she was really very patient :)!
The Best Decision
Gradually I obtained investor E2 visas. I describe this journey in a blog article: "How to get an E2 business visa to the USA".
During my stay in the USA, I had some problems with partners in Czech Republic, so in 2017 I decided to leave the companies in CR and end all my involvement.
I admit I was a little worried about this step because I always had a backup in the form of a WiFi network that, thanks to subscriptions, generated a lot of money.
That's when I started for the first time, completely on my own, with absolutely no income and in a completely foreign country.
In the end, it was the best decision I've ever made in business.
Before that, I was still finding myself in business.
When I wanted to take a new step, an improvement, I kept hearing that it CAN'T be done, it's a problem, you can't do this, this will be a problem, then I ran out of patience and decided to do business on my own.
This way I FINALLY gained freedom and independence in my life and decisions.
I opened a new path where I often tried things that seemed nonsensical to me or I had absolutely no idea how they would turn out.
I created many new projects, both successful and unsuccessful.
Each one gave me new experiences that I still benefit from today.
In these projects, I tried to figure out what exactly I wanted to do in life, what I would be best at and what would extremely enjoy.
Personally, I have an "inner" problem and when I don't enjoy something, I don't pay attention to it or give it my time.
I was looking for my desires.
I tried what I always wanted to try, even if I hit a wall and realized that "this way doesn't lead anywhere".
I experimented a lot with online marketing, website creation, UX design, e-commerce platforms, I tried SEO and often failed again and again because I often had no idea what I was doing.
I started buying a lot of online courses, especially from creators in the USA.
Some courses were total garbage and some really helped me a lot.
I went through about 300 online courses over 2 years.
I also tried opening a store on American eBay, where I started to succeed.
I also opened a few popular and trendy e-shops at the time.
I was able to make up to $7,000 in a single day!
But nothing is as great as it seems.
My skyrocketing success didn't sit well with PayPal, they limited my account and blocked all the money for 180 days, so I closed my eBay account and gradually the same fate befell most of my e-shops.
I was mostly focused on popular and short-term trends like video games such as Fortnite, PUBG and similar.
Also, the Covid pandemic affected a lot of things.
For example, I had software for shipping packages from the USA, but during Covid most packages got stuck at the Jamaica station transit hub in New York, where they "sat" for months and I had no idea when they would move on.
Meanwhile, clients were reaching out, at first forgiving, later sometimes even angry.
I had no choice but to close the company and stop shipping, it was more counterproductive than useful.
After 2 years – trying and trying, many times failing or succeeding only partially – I finally made it!
I tested a lot of things and found the ideal path.
How to set up and run well-converting campaigns on Google and Facebook, I learned how to do SEO effectively (on-page and off-page) and got all my websites to the first pages in search engines.
I finally started living the life I always wanted to live!
SEO has honestly been with me throughout my entire business career and helped me build a stable business.
After all, my current company Editee.com profits quite a lot from SEO.
Of course, we grew thanks to paid advertising, where Štěpán got us I wouldn't have gotten with SEO alone, but more on that later.

New relationship and daughters Leia and Liliana
In 2016, I met my girlfriend Petra in the USA.
She's from Czech Republic just like me, and in 2018 our little princess Leia was born (yes, after Princess Leia from my favorite movie Star Wars :) ).
After Covid, we were blessed with a second daughter Liliana, and with that my family story (hopefully) comes to an end.
The girls are amazing, always laughing, absolutely wonderful, and are my, well our, lifelong loves <3.
I don't share much about my children and their personal lives on the internet, I'm not really a fan of "influencing" in this regard like some celebrities do, I like to give them privacy and if they decide as teenagers to take this path as well, I'll be happy to support them.
(Post)Covid period and 2022 changed everything for me
During Covid, it was honestly quite difficult to fly to the USA. The last time I was there during Covid was at the beginning of 2020 when everything was "starting".
Around March we flew to Czech Republic with plans to return to America in the summer.
Well, we didn't return there for about 3 years.
We sold everything and due to the global situation stayed in Czech Republic.
And today, looking back, it was meant to be.
Comparing family life, kindergartens, schools here and in the USA, for me it's definitely Europe.
I can't imagine better education than in forest kindergartens, and we also chose the school perfectly, but more on that another time.
Also family, grandmothers, grandfathers, friends and so on.
While we were still in the USA, I think sometime in 2018-2019, I met Štěpán online, I'll definitely add the whole story here soon.
And in 2022 we unsuccessfully founded the educational platform Codemy, which we only started promoting on social media, gained lots of followers, but never launched because we were each working on different projects.
In November 2022 we called to discuss what to do with this project and whether to definitively end it.
The 30-minute call turned into several hours, where we discussed what was happening in America and how AI (artificial intelligence) was forming in the world.
One thing led to another and we agreed to call after Christmas to see if we could come up with something in this direction.
After Christmas we called and after deeper research agreed to found Deeply (later Editee, after rebranding).
And exactly on 1.1.2023 I wrote the first code of the Deeply application, which we launched two months later.
This is what the Deeply application, now Editee, looked like in the first months after launch. I believe many of you, readers, remember it.

And you know the rest of the story so far, one of the most successful Czech startups, we were in the media, Štěpán won personality of the year 2025…

A lot has happened and I'm describing this journey right here on this blog so it doesn't get forgotten.
My motivation for entrepreneurship:
The main reason why I ever wanted to do business, to become a successful entrepreneur, was the motivation to have complete freedom in my life.
To decide what and when I will do.
I didn't want anyone dictating my life.
I also wanted to travel the world, meet new people, discover new cultures and places.
So, the girls have grown up a bit and I feel that now is the right time to write this blog and share my life and business experiences.

- Texas – the heart of the horse world. Endless plains, western culture and that indescribable energy you feel at every step. I go there to ride horses about 4 times a year and that western vibe is simply priceless.
What I don't like:
- negative people
- people without life goals
- people who tell me I can't do something without even trying
- being sick, especially having a cold or flu (I almost die every time)
- bad weather
- boredom
- drugs (they destroyed several people I know)
- alcohol (I only drink beer occasionally, I want to quit completely but haven't managed to yet)

NEVER – I SAY NEVER – underestimate yourself!! NEVER!!
Nothing in life has to be or is perfect. Look at me…
I came to the USA, I couldn't speak any English when I arrived there several years ago.
I also know I'm not the copywriter of the millennium and I don't write amazingly great texts.
I know I make mistakes as a programmer too – just like everyone.
But I want to help others, motivate you, I want to share information and experiences I've gained with you and inspire you that everything seemingly impossible is just damn possible.
I never thought like: "LoL, my English is terrible, so I can't go to the USA, I can't even try".
If I thought like this, I wouldn't be where I am and I would never have learned English.
I didn't think, OK I know absolutely nothing about AI (back then there wasn't as much information on the internet as now), so I just can't program it.
Yes, sometimes I didn't sleep for a few nights and felt like giving up because I just didn't know how to continue.
I NEVER wanted to think and reason like this!
Knowledge is the best commodity in the 21st century!
I fulfilled my dream, even though others told me it was impossible
My former business partners always told me: "this is impossible, and this too, you need expensive employees for this", when I wanted to try making video games, create my own cloud system, or learn to program.
They said I would need hundreds of people, mountains of money, and it simply "wasn't possible".
And you know what?
Nonsense, nonsense, and more nonsense..
For example, I signed up for a video game development course and a talented programmer with experience developing games like World of Tanks taught me and showed me how to make video games in the Unity 3D engine.
I coded a small game and fulfilled my dream, just because I wanted to and didn't believe the nonsense (pardon my language) of those who told me it was impossible.
I simply wasn't lazy and as always found a way to do it.
I overcame my fear that I wouldn't manage it, because everyone kept telling me so and I had it "locked" in my head that way, and now programming is my biggest hobby and something that earns me millions.
So remember:
"IF YOU WANT SOMETHING, if you can at least imagine it, you can achieve it!"
The universe will always be here for you and will help you fulfill even your most secret wishes.
NEVER, NEVER AND ONCE MORE NEVER STOP pursuing ALL your dreams.
AGAIN – SEND TO H*LL (pardon my language) anyone who tells you that you can't do or manage something.
It's just nonsense!
You can do anything you want.
I'm not kidding!
