Agile Robots has introduced Agile One SN, a hardware system designed to train humanoid robots using Nvidia software. Agile Robots supplies the body, while the mechanical hands come from Chinese startup Wuji. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang discussed the system in Berlin on October 21.
Robot hands and training software
Agile One SN uses Nvidia Isaac robotics software and the Jetson Thor computing platform. A slide during Huang’s Berlin presentation showed the Wuji Hand 2.
A separate demonstration video published the week before this article claimed that Wuji Hand 2 could autonomously spin a pen even when its movement was disrupted.
How Wuji and Sharpa hands compare
Google DeepMind research lead Keerthana Gopalakrishnan said in a podcast that Sharpa Wave is somewhat stronger than the Wuji hand. She said the Wuji hand is closer in size to a typical human hand but has the strength of a 10-year-old. It was unclear whether she was assessing Wuji Hand 2 or an earlier version.
Zhu Mingxuan of startup JoyIn said in September that Wuji’s hands are light and perform tasks well, but tend to heat up during use. In her experience, Sharpa’s hands performed better but were considerably more expensive.
Access for research institutions
According to Nvidia, research institutions including Stanford and ETH Zurich could begin using Agile One SN in early 2027.
Nvidia also named both institutions in connection with its earlier humanoid reference design, announced on May 31. That system uses a body from Chinese company Unitree and mechanical hands from Sharpa; deliveries were planned to start in late 2026.
