SpaceXAI: Musk brings rockets, artificial intelligence and X under one brand

xAI is no more. The artificial intelligence company founded by Elon Musk and acquired this year by his rocket company SpaceX has been renamed SpaceXAI. The change also brought a new logo and a new account name on the X platform. The xAI account changed its name to SpaceXAI and posted a video in which the old xAI logo gradually transforms into its new form. The short animation carries a simple message: “We are now SpaceXAI.”

SpaceX acquired xAI in February. The deal also included the Grok chatbot and the social network X. Musk thus brought his rockets, artificial intelligence, and social network under a single company. Back in May, he announced that xAI would cease to exist as an independent company and merge with SpaceX, while its artificial intelligence products would carry the SpaceXAI brand.

The name change came shortly after SpaceX’s major stock market debut in June. In the process, the company made history. Its initial public offering was the largest ever. SpaceX raised $75 billion, and its valuation climbed to approximately $1.77 trillion. As a result, Musk briefly became the first person with a net worth exceeding one trillion dollars.

Critics immediately took aim at the new brand’s design. The SpaceXAI logo combines elements from both companies. It adopts SpaceX’s futuristic arc along with the bold shapes of the original xAI logo. According to many, the result resembles something completely different from what Musk probably expected. To many people, it evokes the logo of sportswear brand Reebok.

SpaceX is known worldwide primarily for its rockets and plans to conquer space. However, documents related to its stock market debut revealed how much money it is investing in artificial intelligence. In 2025 alone, it spent $12.7 billion in this area. That is more than three times what it invested in its space division, which also includes the Starlink satellite internet service.

Artificial intelligence is still generating losses for the company. Nevertheless, SpaceX sees it as having the greatest potential and speaks of a market that is expected to become the largest “in human history.” The company plans to launch so-called “AI computing satellites,” meaning data centers located directly in space, as early as 2028.
