What Is Character.AI's New Feed?
Character.AI has just announced the launch of its new product called Feed, presented as the world's first AI-native social feed. This dynamic, scrollable content space connects users with the latest Characters, Scenes, Streams, and creator-made videos, all in one place. Feed began rolling out in the Character.AI mobile app on August 4, 2025, after previously being tested on the web version in June. According to the official blog, this represents a milestone in the evolution of online entertainment, where content is shifting from passive consumption to active creation.
Feed transforms Character.AI from an app focused primarily on chats into a full-fledged content-driven social platform. Each post is an invitation to interact—users can rewrite stories, place themselves in the roles of main characters, or bring characters from other people's scenes into new situations, such as a roast battle (a competition involving comedic insults) or a debate. Each story can therefore have billions of endings, with the content evolving at a single tap. The company's CEO, Karandeep Anand, described it as follows: “With our new Feed, the boundaries between creator and consumer disappear. You can come for a relaxing experience and watch content from amazing creators, but you can also take the story further or create an epic new adventure. Doomscrolling is dead. We’re ushering in the future of AI-powered entertainment.”

Key Features and Content Creation Tools
Feed offers a range of tools that allow both creators and regular users to create short, entertaining content. These include Chat Snippets, which showcase a character's personality through short conversations. There are also Character Cards, which are character previews ready for immediate chatting. Streams let users give their favorite characters a topic and watch them debate, roast one another, record vlogs, or perform other activities in real time.
One of the most notable new features is Avatar FX, a proprietary video model that makes it possible to create videos from an image and a short script in seconds. Users can generate videos of characters or anything else and share them directly to Feed. Generated Images are also available, such as backgrounds based on chats with characters. These features empower the creator community to present their characters in new ways while removing the barriers between consumption and creation. According to available information from technical reports, Feed draws inspiration from platforms such as TikTok, but emphasizes AI-generated content in which AI characters, rather than human influencers, play the leading role.
Safety and Moderation in Feed
Character.AI emphasizes a safe environment that supports creativity. Feed is moderated by the Trust & Safety team together with community moderation. In addition to general text and video classifiers, users can hide or report inappropriate content. Details about safety measures are available in the company's Terms of Service and Safety Center. These measures ensure that interactions remain positive, even as content evolves interactively.
Developments in AI Entertainment
Feed first appeared on the web in June 2025 and is now expanding to mobile apps, coinciding with the boom in AI-generated video. Experts describe it as a blend of TikTok and ChatGPT, focused on remixing and continuing stories through AI characters rather than traditional human-created content. Other platforms, such as Pika, are experimenting with similar social layers, but Character.AI claims to be the first to offer a fully AI-native feed focused on the mobile app. This move shifts the app toward interactive entertainment, where users do not merely watch but actively co-create content, replacing passive scrolling with creative possibilities, according to Anand.
