I heard from a local ghost hunter that Parker Memorial Cemetery is haunted, and after visiting it myself, I agree. It is an old place with old gravestones that look quite weathered, nestled among trees that are happy to be left undisturbed along with the memories of this place, which still resonate if you are sensitive enough to feel them.
The first burial at Parker Memorial Cemetery is believed to have taken place in 1862 and was that of Christina Driskill, born in 1797, whose son-in-law Isaac Green Parker (1816–1875) owned the land. In 1881, Parker’s widow, Mary “Polly” Parker Turner (1820–1897), donated the 4.31-acre (approximately 1.74-hectare) plot for use as a public cemetery. In 1928, a tabernacle was built there, which was also used for funeral services. The cemetery was also known as Clements Cemetery until it received its current name in 1937. There are no specific ghost stories about this place, but everyone knows that spirits lurk there. Just step inside, sit for a while, and you will feel it too.
