Meta and Oakley Unveil a New Product: AI-Powered Sports Glasses
Technology leader Meta and renowned eyewear manufacturer Oakley have created new glasses with integrated artificial intelligence. The glasses are called Oakley Meta HSTN, and it is already clear that there is plenty to look forward to!

Oakley Meta HSTN: Glasses That See, Hear, and Speak
Sunglasses are an essential accessory for outdoor sports. That is why Meta and Oakley have now decided to join forces and take athletes' capabilities even further. Their new glasses, which they unveiled to the public on June 20, can see and hear the world around them.
The glasses feature not only a built-in camera, but also speakers. This allows you to record videos in Ultra HD (3K) or listen to your favorite podcast or playlist. What is more, the speakers are designed so that you can hear your music clearly while still remaining aware of your surroundings. But it certainly does not end there.
Hey Meta, Where Can I Get Something to Eat?
The glasses also include Meta AI, which serves as an assistant. You can ask it questions, and it will answer them immediately.
You activate the assistant by saying “Hey Meta,” and then all you have to do is ask where to find a good Italian restaurant, what is showing at the cinema tonight, what the weather will be like in an hour, or simply tell it to start recording. This allows you to enjoy maximum convenience hands-free.

Pushing the Boundaries of Athletic Performance
According to Oakley's president, the new Oakley Meta HSTN glasses represent not only technological progress, but also a radical shift in athletic performance capabilities. Voice control saves time, access to information speeds up decision-making, and IPX4 water resistance allows the glasses to be worn even in more demanding conditions.
The fact that Oakley Meta HSTN is ushering in a new era of sports is also demonstrated by Kylian Mbappé and Patrick Mahomes, who have joined its ongoing campaign.
Improved Battery and Durability
If you feel like you have heard about smart glasses before, you are right. Back in 2023, Meta partnered with Ray-Ban, and their glasses received an incredible response. Now, however, Meta has decided to push the boundaries of technology and introduce several improvements.
The first piece of good news is the increased battery capacity. The glasses now last not just 4 hours, but 8 hours and 19 hours in standby mode. Charging is also very fast, and you will have 50% battery available in just 20 minutes.
In addition, the glasses' camera will offer better resolution, and the frames are more resistant to adverse weather. However, this will also be reflected in the price.

Availability and Design
The glasses should be available as early as this summer in 15 countries worldwide, with more countries expected to follow later. However, the Czech Republic will have to wait for now, as it has not yet appeared on the official list on meta.com.
Pre-orders for the glasses will open worldwide on July 11, and this limited edition will cost $499. However, those who are willing to wait will get a more affordable price of $399.
Moreover, the glasses will not only be a technological accessory, but also a fashion accessory. They will be available in six different frame and lens combinations:
-
Oakley Meta HSTN Warm Grey with PRIZM™ Ruby Lenses
-
Oakley Meta HSTN Black with PRIZM™ Polar Black Lenses
-
Oakley Meta HSTN Brown Smoke with PRIZM™ Polar Deep Water Lenses
-
Oakley Meta HSTN Black with Transitions® Amethyst Lenses
-
Oakley Meta HSTN Clear with Transitions® Grey Lenses
-
Oakley Meta HSTN Black with Clear Lenses
It Does Not End with Oakley
If smart glasses have caught your attention but you are not exactly an avid athlete, do not despair. Meta is also planning partnerships with fashion brands such as Prada, which will offer stylish models for everyday wear. AI glasses are therefore likely to become a much more versatile accessory in the future.
