Meta AI is preparing to release new models codenamed Avocado. The company recently revamped its website and released an app update in which users discovered a new mode selector offering Fast and Thinking modes. On the web version, some users noticed a widget prompting them to connect apps such as Gmail and Google Calendar. The options also include Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
This feature resembles connectors in other apps—integrations that would allow Meta AI to retrieve information and control tools through MCP protocols. If this interpretation is correct, it would mean that MCP support is finally coming to Meta AI. A Memory section has also been added to the settings menu, and Meta AI users should already be able to see and test all these features.
Manus AI Integration and Browser Agents
Meta recently acquired Manus AI, and references to a Manus AI agent and a browser agent currently under development have appeared in the code. This suggests that Manus-style agents could be coming directly to Meta AI. A new menu called Tasks is also being developed, where users could schedule Meta AI to run repeatedly, similar to scheduled commands in other tools. In other words, scheduled tasks are on the roadmap and will allow users to run commands repeatedly.
Clues in the code also suggest that Meta is working on voice agent support. These voice agent features reference a previous implementation of Meta AI agents. Interestingly, they used a Mark Zuckerberg persona for testing. However, it appears that the voice and browser agent features are not yet in the final stage of implementation.
Testing Competing Models
Another detail associated with the Manus AI integration is that Meta AI appears to be testing leading models from other labs, including Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude. These models reportedly appear in the code and are being used internally for testing.
Now for the more interesting part: there appear to be several internal modes used for development and testing. In addition to the Fast and Thinking modes, there are traces of the new Avocado model, which appears in two forms: Avocado and Avocado Thinking. Currently, only Avocado responds. The responses are not great so far, but it is unclear whether they come from an existing model through routing or from the actual new model.
Sierra Model and Other Features
In connection with the Manus browser agent, a model called Sierra has appeared, apparently representing the browser agent. This increases the likelihood that we will see it soon, perhaps alongside the rest of the models. Meta AI appears to be pursuing a rebrand and expanding its features to close the gap with its competitors, and browser agents could be part of this strategy.
Another referenced model is Big Brain. It may not necessarily be new, as Meta had similar plans last year alongside the Llama models. Conceptually, it resembles Grok Heavy: several model agents run in parallel, and the best output is selected as the response.
Shopping Assistant and OpenClaw Integration
Meta products already support web search, and a shopping assistant also appears to be in development. It is not functional yet, but it is clear that Meta AI is working on a shopping experience. This could be significant given Meta's position across Facebook and Instagram, where people already buy and sell products.
Meta AI is also working on something resembling an OpenClaw integration. Specifically, this mode would allow any model to be used with a custom API key—a "bring your own key" experience that could potentially exist within app connectors. Throughout the code, this is referred to as the OpenClaw agent. This could be significant given Meta's history with open source, even though it no longer plans to open-source its proprietary Avocado model. It may also suggest that Meta is preparing something for the open-source community, such as allowing people to power Meta AI with their own models or offering tighter integration with OpenClaw bots, which are currently growing rapidly.
When Will It Be Released?
It is still unclear whether we will see any Meta ads during the Super Bowl and exactly when these new features and the Avocado model will be released. Nevertheless, there is a strong chance that it will happen very soon. Given recent reports that Avocado was the best model among the current leading models, it could have a strong chance of success. At the same time, we have just received Opus 4.6 and GPT 5.3 Codex, so upcoming releases may overshadow what Meta has prepared.
