xAI has updated Grok Bot, its agent for carrying out tasks on a cloud computer and in connected services. Users can now start tasks directly from a post on X and use additional connectors, including links to trading accounts. The update also expands email automation.
Faster tasks on a shared cloud computer
According to xAI, tasks that involve operating a computer now take roughly a third of the previous time on average. Waiting times for other responses have fallen to less than half their previous level.
Each user has a persistent cloud computer shared by the bots created under their account. Those bots can reuse signed-in sessions, retain context and pass unfinished work to one another.
Robinhood MCP supports placing trades
The new connections include Robinhood, Coinbase and eToro. Additional connectors support Trello, PostHog and beehiiv.
The Robinhood connection goes beyond viewing account information. Robinhood MCP can retrieve investment positions, balances and order history, and place trades through a dedicated agent sub-account. The eToro MCP connection works with Claude and ChatGPT as well as Grok, without users having to copy API keys.
xAI has also begun accepting connector submissions from external development teams, allowing them to expand the range of supported services. The existing Bot Marketplace offers prebuilt agents, including Sales Outbound and Talent Scout, alongside Account Health and Chief of Staff.
Task triggers from X and designated email aliases
Users can start a task on X by tagging @bot in a post. The integration also lets a bot work with private conversations in X Chat once it has been granted permission.
Email routines can be tied to a specific alias with a suffix after the + sign, so only messages sent to that address trigger the routine. The aliases lead to the same inbox while retaining the information needed to select the appropriate routine. Both the email provider and the domain configuration must support this form of addressing.
Voice calls retain context from earlier conversations
The update reduces the time needed to start voice calls and makes call failures less frequent. Later calls can draw on context from previous conversations.
Notifications now go to the device the user is currently using. The chat interface has redesigned cards, a new typeface and more visual themes.
Apps and subscription access
Grok Bot is available through desktop apps for macOS and Windows, as well as an iOS app. It is included in Premium at $30 a month, Super at $100 a month and Ultra at $200 a month, with usage beyond the included weekly allowance billed according to token cost.
Premium provides the base usage allowance, while Super includes 3.5 times that allowance and Ultra includes 12 times as much. Teams and Enterprise subscribers also have access to Grok Bot. Enterprise administrators can configure data-loss prevention and certificate, proxy and network controls when the environment starts.
