Elon Musk, founder of xAI, recently confirmed that his company is actively hiring video game specialists. On the social network X, he replied "True" to a post reporting that xAI was looking for talent in the video game industry. This move follows Musk’s earlier post from last year, where he wrote: "Too many game studios are owned by massive corporations. @xAI is going to start a new gaming studio to make games great again!" This initiative comes as xAI, founded in 2023 with the goal of understanding the true nature of the universe, expands its activities into interactive entertainment.

Details of the Available Positions
xAI is looking for candidates with experience in game design, computer science, and interactive media. Specifically, it is focusing on roles such as AI video game trainers, whose task will be to train the Grok chatbot to understand, generate, and improve game concepts and mechanics. This position involves a creative approach, repeated testing, and providing feedback on games created by artificial intelligence. Pay for this role ranges from $45 to $100 per hour (CZK 1,035 to CZK 2,300 per hour). Other positions include developers who will evaluate game quality, test AI creations, and monitor industry trends. All roles require in-depth knowledge of playing and critiquing video games.
Competition in the AI Gaming Market
xAI is entering a competitive environment where giants are already operating, such as Microsoft with Xbox, which is collaborating with Inworld AI on multi-year projects, Nvidia with its ACE system for creating AI-powered digital characters, and Roblox with its Roblox Cube generative AI tool for game creation. Julian Togelius, co-founder of modl.ai and associate professor at New York University, emphasized that generative AI is transforming game development but requires human oversight. According to him, a hybrid model combining human intuition with automation optimizes results and reduces risks. The global video game market is expected to exceed $600 billion by 2030, with AI increasingly being used in story design, character behavior, and world-building, according to Grand View Research.
