Apple Is Preparing a Major Leap into the World of AI Robots

Apple, the well-known iPhone manufacturer, is reportedly preparing an ambitious expansion into AI-powered smart homes. This move comes as the company trails competitors such as Google and Meta in the race for AI technology. According to Bloomberg, Apple is focusing on developing a tabletop robot that could arrive as early as 2027. The robot is described as a device resembling an iPad mounted on a movable arm, allowing it to turn toward users and actively engage in conversations.

An Enhanced Siri as Another Member of the Household

A key part of this plan is an enhanced version of the Siri voice assistant, designed to be much more conversational and natural. Siri is intended to act like "another person" in the home, meaning that it will not merely respond to commands but will actively participate in what is happening. For example, during a family dinner, it could suggest restaurants or join the discussion. This upgrade is intended to make Siri significantly more interactive, with the ability to follow the context of a conversation and respond naturally.

Details of the Tabletop Robot and Its Features

Apple's tabletop robot is expected to be designed as a practical companion for a table or work surface. Its movable arm will allow it to rotate and tilt, enabling the device to focus on the person speaking in the room. According to available information, it should support features such as FaceTime video calls, video conferencing, and smart home management. The robot should be able to track users as they move around the room, increasing its usefulness during everyday activities. This concept is based on the idea of creating a device that is not merely a passive assistant but an active participant in home life, with an emphasis on natural interaction.

Smart Home Plans

In addition to the tabletop robot, Apple plans to expand its lineup with other AI devices. These include a smart display measuring approximately 6 inches that could compete with products such as Amazon's Echo Show or Google's Nest Hub. This display could arrive as early as 2026. There is also talk of advanced home security cameras that would be integrated into a unified AI-powered system. The entire system is intended to work seamlessly with existing Apple products, such as iPhones and HomePod.

Apple is betting on home robotics as a way to catch up in the AI race. While competitors such as Google and Meta already have advanced AI assistants, Apple is trying to differentiate itself by focusing on a personal and interactive experience in the home. According to Bloomberg, these new products could arrive by 2027 at the latest, but the company has not yet made any official announcement.
