Apple Is Preparing Health+: A New AI Advisor for a Healthy Lifestyle
Apple is responding to the growing popularity of artificial intelligence and is preparing a new service called Apple Health+ for 2026. It is expected to be an AI health coach available in the Health app that will not only track your activity but also prepare a nutrition plan tailored to your needs or schedule activities.
Apple as a Leader in Health Monitoring
Apple has long focused on health and healthy lifestyles, dating back to the launch of the first Apple Watch. It records data on movement, sleep quality, and heart rate, helping users gain an overview of their physical fitness.
Now, however, Apple wants to go even further and provide its users with a premium AI advisor that will not only track activity but also offer health recommendations. Health+ is expected to be part of the Health app.
Artificial Intelligence Instead of Trainers
Unlike Apple Fitness+, which relies on real trainers and prerecorded workout videos, the premium Health+ service is expected to be more personalized. This AI coach is intended to analyze data collected from an Apple Watch or iPhone and prepare an individual plan that it can adjust as needed. Instead of a routine workout, you will receive suggestions on what to add to your diet, when to rest, when to include more physical activity in your plan, and other health recommendations prepared specifically for you.
A Strategic Move to Increase Revenue
Apple earns money not only from iPhone sales but primarily from its services, including subscriptions and apps. However, it is now under pressure because its search agreement with Google faces criticism and accusations of monopolistic practices. If Google is no longer the default search engine on Apple devices, the company will lose tens of billions of dollars annually. Revenue is also threatened by disputes surrounding in-app purchases.
Apple is therefore looking for ways to maintain its financial stability. In addition to raising the price of Apple TV+, this also includes introducing new services. Health in particular is an area with great potential, especially if the new Health+ service gives people their own coach who will improve their lifestyle based on their specific data. However, the price of the AI coach is not yet clear.
AI as Apple's Weakness
However, the app's development and success may be limited by the company's existing shortcomings in artificial intelligence. AI remains a relatively weak area for Apple, as demonstrated by the delay of advanced Siri features until 2026. However, if the company makes progress, Health+ could become a highly successful and useful app that attracts millions of users around the world.
