Taking a Step Means Progress

I am partially quoting a few thoughts from my favorite book, Rework.

When you put off your decisions, they begin to pile up. They remain forgotten, are dealt with in a rush, or are simply discarded.

As a result, individual problems remain unresolved.

In every possible case, replace the phrase “we’ll think about it” with “we’ll decide it.”

Make it your practice to make decisions. Don’t wait for some perfect solution.

Just make a decision and move on.

You need to get into the rhythm of making changes.

When you get into the flow of making one decision after another, you gain momentum and strengthen your work ethic.

Decisions are progress.

Every single decision is a brick in the foundation.

You cannot build on some “we’ll decide that later,” but you can build only on “done.”

The problem arises when you put off a decision in the hope that you will come up with the perfect answer sometime later.

You won’t.

You can take an excellent step today just as well as tomorrow.

You don’t have to live with a decision you make forever.

If you make a mistake, it can be corrected later.

It doesn’t matter how much you plan; something will still go wrong.

But don’t make the situation worse through excessive analysis and procrastination—you would never get started on anything.

Long projects destroy work ethic. The longer development takes, the lower the chances of launching.

Get moving, make progress, and do something right now—while you still have the motivation and momentum!
