Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Anthropic have just announced new strategic partnerships aimed at advancing the development of artificial intelligence (AI). Anthropic plans to expand its rapidly growing Claude model on the Microsoft Azure platform, powered by NVIDIA technology. This means greater availability of Claude for Azure enterprise customers, giving them more options and new features. Anthropic has committed to purchasing $30 billion (approximately CZK 690 billion) worth of Azure computing capacity and securing additional capacity of up to one gigawatt.
Microsoft and Anthropic are deepening their existing collaboration to make Claude more accessible to businesses. Microsoft Foundry customers can now access advanced Claude models, including Claude Sonnet 4.5, Claude Opus 4.1, and Claude Haiku 4.5. This will make Claude the only advanced model available across all three of the world's largest cloud services. Azure customers will therefore gain a wider choice of models and special features associated with Claude.
Collaboration with NVIDIA
For the first time, NVIDIA and Anthropic have agreed to a deep technological collaboration that will support Anthropic's growth. They will work together on design and engineering to optimize Anthropic's models for the best possible performance, efficiency, and total cost. This collaboration will focus on NVIDIA's Grace Blackwell and Vera Rubin systems. Anthropic will begin with computing capacity of up to one gigawatt on these NVIDIA systems.
Investment and Copilot Support
Microsoft has committed to continuing the integration of Claude into its Copilot family, including GitHub Copilot, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Copilot Studio. The agreement also includes investments: NVIDIA has committed to investing up to $10 billion (approximately CZK 230 billion) and Microsoft up to $5 billion (approximately CZK 115 billion) in Anthropic.
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella, and NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang met to discuss the news. During the discussion, they emphasized the importance of customer choice, the strength of the enterprise market, and the need for collaboration in expanding the adoption of AI. Jensen Huang spoke about how NVIDIA is helping accelerate models such as Claude, while Dario Amodei expressed enthusiasm about the capacity they will gain for training and sales. Satya Nadella emphasized that all of this builds on the partnership with OpenAI and brings more innovation.
