Meta announced on November 5, 2026, that Muse Voice is available to all users in the US. The feature lets people make voice and video calls with Meta’s AI assistant, Muse, to ask questions or request help with tasks.
How the avatar interacts
An animated avatar nicknamed Jolly appears during conversations. Users can customize its appearance to resemble a person, an animal or another character.
The video calls use Muse Realtime Avatar and Muse Realtime Voice technology. Meta says the avatar will use subtle facial expressions and gestures that match the tone of the conversation as it speaks. Muse cannot see the user; it hears them and responds based on the conversation.
A demo with a white dog avatar
Meta first introduced Muse video calls at its Connect developer conference in September. Its chief AI officer, Alexandr Wang, has since shared a demonstration in which his avatar, a white dog, suggests adding explanations to memes that could be misinterpreted as content endorsed by Meta.
Where to use Muse Voice
Real-time conversations work on mobile devices, the web and Mac computers. Meta says support is also planned for AI Glasses and the upcoming Muse Charm device.
The company plans to launch a wearable device for Muse by the end of the year. The avatar is intended to appear on its small screen and respond to users or carry out tasks for them.
