Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently decided to speak plainly to employees. During an internal meeting held the day after the company announced record results, he responded to a question about managers who tell their people to use less artificial intelligence (AI). Huang called it "insane." According to him, every task that can be automated using AI should indeed be automated. "I want every possible task to be automated by artificial intelligence," he said bluntly. And what if AI does not yet work perfectly for something? "Use it until it works," he added, urging employees to get involved and help improve it because Nvidia has the power to do so.
This was not just an ordinary meeting. Nvidia had just announced that it generated $57.01 billion in revenue in the most recent quarter, an increase of 62% compared with the same period last year. This made the company the most valuable in the world, with a market capitalization of more than $4 trillion (about CZK 94 trillion). Huang sees this as proof that AI is the key to success, and he wants the same to apply within the company.
Employees Do Not Need to Fear Losing Their Jobs
Many people fear that AI will replace their jobs, but Huang sees it differently. At the meeting, he promised: "I promise you, you will have work to do." While other technology companies such as Microsoft, Meta, Google, and Amazon have laid off employees or slowed hiring, Nvidia is doing the opposite. The company hired several thousand people in the most recent quarter alone, and Huang said it is still about 10,000 employees short of what it needs. Nvidia's headcount grew from 29,600 at the end of fiscal year 2024 to 36,000 at the end of fiscal year 2025. This means the company is growing rapidly and sees AI as a tool that helps rather than harms.
Huang emphasized that AI should be a fundamental skill that keeps people relevant as the company expands. "You won't lose your job to AI; you'll lose it to someone who is using AI right now," he said previously in an interview. According to him, AI is changing the nature of work, but it is not eliminating it. History, he says, proves that when productivity grows, employment grows as well, provided the world does not stop inventing new things. He called AI "the greatest technology equalizer we've ever seen" because it empowers people and lifts them up.
Use of AI at Nvidia
Some departments within Nvidia are already actively using AI. For example, software engineers work with Cursor, an AI-powered coding assistant. Huang cited it as an example of how quickly AI can transform everyday work when used properly. Huang himself is a major fan of AI—he uses it as an "everyday tutor." Every day, he turns to OpenAI's ChatGPT for general tasks, Gemini for technical tasks, Grok for creative and artistic ideas, and Perplexity for quick research. Nvidia has formal partnerships with most of these tools, except for xAI's Grok, which nevertheless uses Nvidia graphics processing units (GPUs) in large quantities. The company recently signed an agreement with Anthropic, the creator of the Claude chatbot, so it could soon be added to Huang's list.
The company is also expanding physically. Huang mentioned that Nvidia recently opened new offices in Taipei and Shanghai and is building two more in the US. All of this is due to growing demand for data centers, which Nvidia meets with its processors. Huang even said in a previous interview that he hopes Nvidia will one day have 50,000 employees with 100 million AI assistants in every group.
The Future with AI
Even at Nvidia, which sells AI technology to the entire world, there is resistance to full adoption. At the meeting, Huang spoke about "pockets" of internal resistance where managers are slowing the use of AI. He sees this as a problem that needs to be addressed because, in his view, AI is the future. More broadly, Huang believes that AI will change 100% of all jobs—the tasks will shift, but people will remain. "The job will change, but it is highly likely that I'm still doing my job," he said in an interview with CNN.
Nvidia is not alone in pushing AI. Microsoft and Meta plan to include AI use in employee performance reviews. Amazon is considering deploying Cursor at the request of its employees. Huang's approach is unique, however, in that it connects AI with company growth—not with layoffs, but with hiring. The challenge remains convincing 36,000 people to change their habits. This could be one of the most difficult tasks Huang faces.
This approach contrasts with criticism such as that from Michael Burry, the investor featured in "The Big Short," who doubts the AI boom. Nvidia responded with a memorandum to Wall Street analysts rejecting these doubts. Huang is therefore fighting both inside and outside the company to show that AI is an opportunity for everyone.
