DinoPark Vyškov is an entertaining and educational park with more than a hundred dinosaur models and is one of the oldest and most popular family attractions in South Moravia. You will find it in Vyškov, and the only way to reach it is through Vyškov Zoo Park, so it is essentially two attractions in one—which is why it is often referred to as DinoPark Zoo Vyškov.
When someone asks us for a day-trip idea with children near Brno, DinoPark in Vyškov is always one of my first suggestions. We have been here several times, and the children have enjoyed it just as much every time as they did on their first visit. It is not just about the dinosaurs—the whole trip begins at the zoo, where a special DinoExpress takes you to DinoPark. And in my opinion, that is exactly what makes the entire experience even better.

How do you get there? First the Zoo Park, then DinoPark
You can only reach DinoPark through Vyškov Zoo Park, so you purchase a combined ticket for both attractions.
Parking can be a little more difficult, especially at weekends. The parking area directly by the zoo is often full, but you can also park a short distance away—for example, by the Ranch or Tesco. It is only a few minutes on foot, so I do not consider it a major problem.
Before heading off to see the dinosaurs, I recommend exploring at least part of the zoo. Our children always enjoy the Farmyard the most, where they can buy feed for a small fee and feed the goats. For the youngest visitors, this is often just as exciting as the dinosaurs themselves.
Tip: If you want to plan your visit in advance, you can find a map of the grounds and information about the exact location of the entrance on the DinoPark website. The map will help you understand where the route leads and which attractions you do not want to miss.
How can you buy tickets, and how much is admission?
Tickets are purchased directly at the entrance to the Zoo Park and also serve as admission to DinoPark. You can buy them on site (offline) or reserve them online in advance—something you will particularly appreciate during the holidays, when there is often a queue at the ticket office.
How to do it in a few steps:

At the entrance, you will pass through the Zoo Park and board the DinoExpress, which will take you directly to DinoPark.
The ticket is combined, so you do not have to pay any separate additional admission fee. Compared with many other attractions where you pay extra for every individual activity, plenty of things are included here—such as the train ride and the 4D cinema.
Why is the DinoExpress part of the experience?
Then comes what the children look forward to most—the ride on the DinoExpress.
In approximately fifteen to twenty minutes, the road train takes you through Vyškov all the way to DinoPark. The children are excited by the journey itself, and when the train passes through the entrance gate accompanied by music reminiscent of Jurassic Park, the atmosphere is perfect.
It is a small thing, but these are exactly the kinds of details that turn an ordinary trip into something special.
What will you see at DinoPark? More than a hundred dinosaurs
DinoPark itself is set in a pleasant woodland environment, with a circular route leading among life-size dinosaurs.
These are not just static models. Many of the dinosaurs move and make sounds, and new attractions are added every year. For example, we came across a dinosaur that sprays water and a Triceratops that is guaranteed to make children laugh because it… yes, really does pee. (DinoPark)
If your children know films or TV series set in the world of Jurassic World, they will be thrilled. They will recognize T-Rex (Tyrannosaurus rex), raptors, Spinosaurus, Triceratops, and plenty of other well-known species.
Other favorites include the enormous long-necked Brachiosaurus and Stegosaurus with its distinctive bony plates along its back. Children mainly remember Stegosaurus for its spiked tail—and believe me, they will spend plenty of time by the Triceratops.
It is not just about looking
What I like most about DinoPark is the fact that the children do not spend most of their time simply standing and looking.
They can take a photo in a cage with a dinosaur, crawl through a giant dinosaur model, try the DinoHurricane, play at being little paleontologists, or visit the 4D cinema.
Incidentally, the cinema is included in the ticket price and shows its own short films created specifically for the DinoPark network. The seats move during the screening, and the children really enjoy the various effects. (DinoPark)
There are also educational information boards in several places, so the children will learn something new in an engaging way.
What is Night at DinoPark?
If you want to take the experience even further, you can attend a special seasonal event called Night at DinoPark. This night among the dinosaurs is one of the most popular programs offered by the park.
Children can spend the night with their parents in a tent right on the grounds and experience the park after dark, when the robotic models seem even more mysterious. It has a completely different atmosphere from daytime—darkness, the sounds of the woods, and enormous dinosaur silhouettes surrounding the tent.
Capacity is usually limited, so if you are interested in this overnight event, it is a good idea to monitor the website and secure your place online in advance.
How did DinoPark come about?
You may be surprised to learn that DinoPark Vyškov has been operating since 2006 and was one of the first large DinoParks in Central Europe. It was established in a former recreation complex in the Marchanice woodland park and, from the very beginning, was connected to Vyškov Zoo Park by a combined ticket and DinoExpress transportation. The project was created by the Czech company DinoPark, which gradually built a network of parks not only in Czechia but also in Slovakia, Hungary, and Spain.
An interesting fact is that the dinosaur models are continually updated according to the latest paleontological findings. As scientists discover new information about what dinosaurs looked like, their appearance in the parks changes as well.

The only downside? The food
If I had to criticize anything, it would be the food selection.
I am not a big fan of fries, fried food, and other typical fast food being the main options for children. Of course, children love it, but I would welcome a wider selection of healthier meals or at least some higher-quality options.
On the other hand, that is probably the only thing that bothered me during our visit.
Our verdict
In my opinion, DinoPark Vyškov is one of those places you can easily return to. It is not an attraction that you visit once and then lose interest in.
New dinosaurs or attractions are added every season, so repeat visits are worthwhile. Vyškov, hmm—if someone had told me years ago how many times we would return here, I probably would not have believed them.
If you live near Brno, anywhere in the South Moravian Region, or are planning a trip through South Moravia, I would definitely add DinoPark to your list of places worth visiting. Moravia offers plenty of family trips, but this one ranks among the very best.
The entire trip will comfortably fill one afternoon, the children will be thrilled, and if you have little dinosaur lovers at home, they will almost certainly not want to leave.
