Google made Gemini 4 Argon available in the Gemini app on October 13, 2026. Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers gain access to the new model and can now assign it tasks. Google says Gemini can carry out that work across its apps and other services, even while users are away from their computers.
Switch to tasks directly in the conversation
A toggle in the main conversation window activates task mode, letting users switch between regular chat and assigning work to Gemini.
Gemini now connects to more than 40 apps. The announced services include Instacart and OpenTable, as well as Adobe and Shopify. Google cites grocery orders and restaurant reservations as examples, alongside design work and business development.
Google Antigravity in the macOS app
The Gemini macOS app now includes Google Antigravity’s agentic coding interface, designed to make switching between conversation and coding easier within the app. Google also says Argon delivers substantial improvements in coding.
Google says answers are more direct and progress updates more frequent
Google says the changes also affect how the model responds: Argon is designed to answer more directly, use less hedging, reduce unnecessary repetition and avoid clichés.
For longer tasks, the company says Argon keeps users informed about its progress more frequently and effectively.
