Deep Robotics Introduces Lynx M20: The New Generation of Four-Legged Robots for the Most Challenging Terrains
The company Deep Robotics, known for its innovations in robotics, recently introduced its latest model – the Lynx M20. This wheeled quadruped robot is specifically designed to operate in inhospitable and dangerous environments where traditional robots often fail. The Lynx M20 thus represents a significant step forward in industrial automation and the deployment of robots in real-world conditions.
Hybrid Design for Maximum Mobility
One of the Lynx M20’s greatest advantages is its unique hybrid construction, which combines the benefits of wheeled and legged robots. This allows the robot to achieve high speeds on flat surfaces while also handling challenging terrain such as rocky trails, muddy wetlands, or rubble in ruins. This combination ensures that the Lynx M20 can perform tasks that are beyond the capabilities of ordinary robots. The Lynx M20 is designed with an emphasis on low weight and high durability. Its construction enables long-term operation even under extreme conditions while meeting strict dust and water protection standards (IP54). This means that the robot can be deployed outdoors in various weather conditions without compromising its functionality.
Advanced Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Movement
The robot is equipped with advanced artificial intelligence algorithms that allow it to autonomously adjust its posture and movement according to the current terrain. This enables the Lynx M20 to overcome obstacles and respond quickly to changes in its surroundings. A key role is also played by its 96-beam lidar, which provides the robot with a 360° field of view and enables precise mapping of its surroundings as well as obstacle avoidance.
The Lynx M20 weighs approximately 30 kg and measures 0.8 x 0.5 x 0.6 meters. It can carry a payload of up to 12 kg, making it an ideal assistant for various industrial applications. Thanks to its dual replaceable battery system, the robot can operate for up to three hours continuously or travel more than 15 km on a single charge. The batteries can also be quickly replaced without interrupting operation.
Wide Range of Applications
Thanks to its versatility and durability, the Lynx M20 is suitable for a wide range of tasks – from power line inspections and supporting firefighters and rescue workers during operations to logistics operations or scientific research in hard-to-reach areas. The robot is also ready for future expansion – it offers automatic recharging and a range of expansion ports for integrating specialized tools.
With the launch of the Lynx M20, Deep Robotics confirms its position as a leader in advanced robotics. The new model expands the possibilities for deploying robots in environments where human work is dangerous or impossible, thereby bringing greater safety and efficiency to industrial operations. As the company’s product manager Mao Tang stated, the Lynx M20 is “a cutting-edge tool that puts a smart, efficient, and powerful solution for extreme scenarios into the hands of industrial partners”.
