Anthropic has launched Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion in beta. Dashboards turns questions about connected business data into views that refresh as the underlying data changes. Motion creates animated presentations through code: users can edit the composition, text and figures before exporting an MP4, without having to recreate every frame.
From a question to a dashboard with inspectable queries
Using Dashboards starts with a question in plain language. Claude generates queries against the data, selects visualizations and builds a dashboard. The resulting view refreshes as the underlying data changes, and each chart displays when it was last updated.
The logic used to calculate displayed metrics remains accessible. Clicking a metric opens its underlying query, and users can ask Claude to explain how it works. Before sharing a result or using it to make a decision, analysts can inspect table joins and filters, as well as aggregations and individual metric definitions.
Supported data connections include Amazon Redshift, BigQuery and ClickHouse, alongside Databricks and Snowflake. Existing connectors also provide access to data from CRM services such as Salesforce.
Sending dashboards to other analytics tools
Teams that need to continue their analysis outside Claude can send a dashboard to Amplitude, Grafana, Hex or Mixpanel. Other supported destinations include Omni, Perplexity, PostHog and Sigma. Anthropic also plans to support Looker, monday.com and Tableau.
Motion builds animations from editable elements
Claude Motion works with supplied text, data, shapes and images. It defines their layout and transitions programmatically, leaving the resulting composition editable in code before export as an MP4.
Individual edits do not have to change the entire animation. Text, numerical values, timing and visual elements can be adjusted separately; a revised figure can carry through to the result without recreating every frame. Reviewers can inspect the composition and check its text and data before export.
Motion does not use a video diffusion model and does not itself generate synthetic footage or artificial people. Teams can continue working on their animations in Adobe tools or services including Descript, Runway, Luma AI and Higgsfield.
Anthropic lists quarterly-report summaries and animated charts for board presentations among the initial uses. It also highlights company-wide updates and product walkthroughs.
Dashboards on paid plans, Motion on Team and Enterprise
Access differs between the two beta tools. Claude Dashboards is available to users on all paid plans, while Claude Motion is limited to Team and Enterprise.
Docs, Slides and Design have also moved out of beta. They are now generally available across all Claude plans, including Free. Anthropic says users have created more than 45 million documents, presentations and designs with these tools since their release.
Enterprise activation and customer-managed encryption keys
Anthropic groups these tools under Artifacts. Dashboards and Motion are disabled by default in Enterprise organizations; administrators can enable them in the Artifacts section of Organization settings. Docs, Slides and Design are scheduled to be enabled by default on October 15, though administrators can activate them earlier.
Artifacts now supports customer-managed encryption keys. Organizations can apply their own key-management controls to encrypted content.
